Smart switching solutions
Following years of investment in R&D, a range of versatile energy saving and load shifting solutions have been developed that centre around KES’ “Intelligent Switch Module”, a smart switching device, the adoption of which will more than satisfy the South African government’s overall target of a 10% reduction in energy consumption.
Swimming Pool Pump Control
The Intelligent Switch (Swimming Pool Pump Control), ISP0901, is designed to prevent swimming pool pumps from operating during Eskom designated peak times morning and evening. With proposed dual-tariff billing aimed at allowing municipalities to bill at higher rates during these critical peak periods, the use of the ISP0901 by consumers will result in sizable savings, and much more efficient use of power from the national grid. The ISP0901 replaces existing (outlawed) timers.

The Intelligent Switch (Geyser Control), ISG0801, is designed to prevent geysers from operating during parts of Eskom designated peak times morning and evening. As with the Swimming Pool Pump Control device, the use of the ISG0801 will result in sizable savings for consumers, and much more efficient use of power from the national grid.
KES Datasheet ISG0801Lighting Fragmentation
KES has also developed an Intelligent Switch Unit (Lighting Fragmentation), ISU0801, for use primarily in commercial or industrial applications, such as multi-level shopping centre car parks. A typical shopping centre with thousands of fluorescent light fittings, would use the ISU0801 to more effectively control the use and energy consumption of these lights, resulting in considerable energy and cost savings.
KES Datasheet ISU0801Motion Sensing & Lighting Control
KES has also developed an Intelligent Switching System, used primarily in commercial or industrial lighting applications. It comprises two main components, the KES Intelligent Switch (Plug and Play) device (PPL0901), along with the matched KES Timed Motion Sensor (TMS0901). The system allows for lighting to be controlled using motion (occupancy) sensing. It also senses ambient light and compares it to a preset lux level requirement, so that lighting can be turned on again, once motion is detected.

The Intelligent Switching System used in Lighting Control has been adapted to provide energy efficient control of airconditioners. The KES Intelligent Switch (Airconditioner Control) device (ISA0901), along with the matched KES Timed Motion Sensor (TMS0901), allows for airconditioners to be controlled using motion (occupancy) sensing.
